“The city which goes forth one thousand strong

And the one which goes forth one hundred strong
Will have (B)ten left to the house of Israel.”

For thus says Yahweh to the house of Israel,

(C)Seek Me (D)that you may live.
But do not seek (E)Bethel,
And do not come to (F)Gilgal,
Nor cross over to (G)Beersheba;
For Gilgal will certainly go into [a]exile,
And Bethel will become [b]evil.

This is what the Sovereign Lord says to Israel:

“Your city that marches out a thousand strong

This is what the Lord says to Israel:

“Seek(B) me and live;(C)
    do not seek Bethel,
do not go to Gilgal,(D)
    do not journey to Beersheba.(E)
For Gilgal will surely go into exile,
    and Bethel will be reduced to nothing.[a](F)
