Amos 8:2-4
Living Bible
2 “What do you see, Amos?” he asked.
I replied, “A basket full of ripe fruit.”
Then the Lord said, “This fruit represents my people Israel—ripe for punishment. I will not defer their punishment again. 3 The riotous sound of singing in the Temple will turn to weeping then. Dead bodies will be scattered everywhere. They will be carried out of the city in silence.” The Lord has spoken.
4 Listen, you merchants who rob the poor, trampling on the needy;

New International Version
2 “What do you see,(A) Amos?(B)” he asked.
“A basket(C) of ripe fruit,” I answered.
Then the Lord said to me, “The time is ripe for my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.(D)
3 “In that day,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “the songs in the temple will turn to wailing.[a](E) Many, many bodies—flung everywhere! Silence!(F)”
