⁴ And though they go into captivity in front of their enemies,
    there I will command the sword, and it shall kill them;
and I will fix my eyes on them
    for harm and not for good.^(A)

¹⁴ Flight shall perish from the swift,
    and the strong shall not retain their strength,
    nor shall the mighty save their lives;^(A)

¹⁴ On the day I punish Israel for its transgressions,
    I will punish the altars of Bethel,
and the horns of the altar shall be cut off
    and fall to the ground.

¹³ You came forth to save your people,
    to save your anointed.
You crushed the head of the wicked house,
    laying it bare from foundation to roof.^[a] Selah^(A)

¹⁴ Herds shall lie down in it,
    every wild animal of the earth;^[a]
the desert owl^[b] and the screech owl^[c]
    shall lodge on its capitals;
the owl^[d] shall hoot at the window,
    the raven^[e] croak on the threshold,
    for its cedar work will be laid bare.^(A)
