19 Then he shall turn his face back towards the (A)fortresses of his own land, but he shall (B)stumble and fall, (C)and shall not be found.
20 “Then shall arise in his place one who shall send an (D)exactor of tribute for the glory of the kingdom. But within a few days he shall be broken, neither in anger nor in battle. 21 In his place shall arise a contemptible person to whom royal majesty has not been given. (E)He shall come in without warning and obtain the kingdom (F)by flatteries.

19 After this, he will turn back toward the fortresses of his own country but will stumble and fall,(A) to be seen no more.(B)
20 “His successor will send out a tax collector to maintain the royal splendor.(C) In a few years, however, he will be destroyed, yet not in anger or in battle.
21 “He will be succeeded by a contemptible(D) person who has not been given the honor of royalty.(E) He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize it through intrigue.
