33 These things happened immediately. Nebuchadnezzar was forced to go away from people. He began eating grass like an ox. He became wet from dew. His hair grew long like the feathers of an eagle, and his nails grew long like the claws of a bird.

34 Then at the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven, and I was in my right mind again. Then I gave praise to God Most High. I gave honor and glory to him who lives forever.

God rules forever!
    His kingdom continues for all generations.
35 People on earth
    are not really important.
God does what he wants
    with the powers of heaven
    and the people on earth.
No one can stop his powerful hand
    or question what he does.

33 Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched(A) with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.(B)

34 At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity(C) was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.(D)

His dominion is an eternal dominion;
    his kingdom(E) endures from generation to generation.(F)
35 All the peoples of the earth
    are regarded as nothing.(G)
He does as he pleases(H)
    with the powers of heaven
    and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back(I) his hand(J)
    or say to him: “What have you done?”(K)
