Then these men said, “We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the (A)law of his God.”

Then these commissioners and satraps came [a]by agreement to the king and spoke to him as follows: “King Darius, (B)live forever! All the (C)commissioners of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the high officials and the governors have (D)consulted together that the king should establish a statute and enforce an injunction that anyone who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, shall (E)be cast into the lions’ [b]den.

So these administrators and satraps went as a group to the king and said: “May King Darius live forever!(B) The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors(C) have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den.(D)
