2 Daniel [a]said, “I was (A)looking in my vision by night, and behold, the (B)four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea. 3 And four great (C)beasts were coming up from the sea, different from one another. 4 The first was (D)like a lion and had the wings of an eagle. I kept looking until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man; a human [b]mind also was given to it.

2 Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven(A) churning up the great sea. 3 Four great beasts,(B) each different from the others, came up out of the sea.
4 “The first was like a lion,(C) and it had the wings of an eagle.(D) I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.
