23 At the beginning of your pleas for mercy, a word went out, and now I have come to declare[a] it, for you are highly esteemed, and so consider the word and understand the vision.

24 “Seventy weeks is decreed for your people and for your holy city,[b] to put an end to the transgression and to seal up sin[c] and to make atonement for guilt and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint the most holy place.[d] 25 And you must know and you must understand[e] that from the time of the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem until an anointed[f] onea leader—will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;[g] it will be restored and will be built with streets and a moat, but in a time of oppression.[h]

24 “Seventy ‘sevens’[a] are decreed for your people and your holy city(D) to finish[b] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone(E) for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness,(F) to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.[c]

25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild(G) Jerusalem until the Anointed One,[d](H) the ruler,(I) comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.(J)
