3 And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke unto the children of Israel according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them,
4 after he had slain Sihon the king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei.
5 On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,

3 In the fortieth year,(A) on the first day of the eleventh month,(B) Moses proclaimed(C) to the Israelites all that the Lord had commanded him concerning them. 4 This was after he had defeated Sihon(D) king of the Amorites,(E) who reigned in Heshbon,(F) and at Edrei had defeated Og(G) king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth.(H)
5 East of the Jordan in the territory of Moab,(I) Moses began to expound this law, saying:
