Deuteronomy 1:37-39

Good News Translation

³⁷Because of you the Lord also became angry with me and said, ‘Not even you, Moses, will enter the land. ³⁸But strengthen the determination of your helper, Joshua son of Nun. He will lead Israel to occupy the land.’

³⁹“Then the Lord said to all of us, ‘Your children, who are still too young to know right from wrong, will enter the land—the children you said would be seized by your enemies. I will give the land to them, and they will occupy it.

³⁷Because of you the Lord became angry^(A) with me also and said, “You shall not enter^(B) it, either. ³⁸But your assistant, Joshua^(C) son of Nun, will enter it. Encourage^(D) him, because he will lead^(E) Israel to inherit^(F) it. ³⁹And the little ones that you said would be taken captive,^(G) your children who do not yet know^(H) good from bad—they will enter the land. I will give it to them and they will take possession of it.

³⁷Also the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither.

³⁸But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

³⁹Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
