⁸ At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi^(A) to carry the ark of the covenant^(B) of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister^(C) and to pronounce blessings^(D) in his name, as they still do today.^(E)

⁹ That is why the Levites have no share or inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance,^(A) as the Lord your God told them.)

¹² And there rejoice^(A) before the Lord your God—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites^(B) from your towns who have no allotment or inheritance^(C) of their own.

²⁷ And do not neglect the Levites^(A) living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.^(B)

²⁸ At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes^(C) of that year’s produce and store it in your towns,^{(D) 29} so that the Levites (who have no allotment^(E) or inheritance^(F) of their own) and the foreigners,^(G) the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied,^(H) and so that the Lord your God may bless^(I) you in all the work of your hands.

Offerings for Priests and Levites

18 The Levitical^(A) priests—indeed, the whole tribe of Levi—are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. They shall live on the food offerings^(B) presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance.^(C)
