3 (A)Also ye shall overthrow their altars, and break down their pillars, and burn their [a]groves with fire: and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and abolish their names out of that place.
4 Ye shall [b]not do so unto the Lord your God,
5 But ye shall seek the place which the Lord your God shall (B)choose out of your tribes, to put his Name there, and there to dwell, and thither thou shalt come,

New International Version
3 Break down their altars, smash(A) their sacred stones and burn(B) their Asherah(C) poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and wipe out their names(D) from those places.
4 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way.(E) 5 But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name(F) there for his dwelling.(G) To that place you must go;
