Deuteronomy 12:30-32

30 beware that you are not ensnared [a]to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?’ 31 (A)You shall not behave thus toward the Lord your God, for every abominable act which the Lord hates they have done for their gods; for (B)they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
32 “[b](C)Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; (D)you shall not add to nor take away from it.

Deuteronomy 12:30-32
New International Version
30 and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared(A) by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.”(B) 31 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates.(C) They even burn their sons(D) and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.(E)
32 See that you do all I command you; do not add(F) to it or take away from it.[a]
