And so we passed by our brothers, the descendants[a] of Esau, who live in Seir, past the road of the Arabah,[b] from Elath and Ezion Geber, and we turned and traveled along the route of the desert[c] of Moab.

And Yahweh said to me, ‘You shall not attack Moab, and you shall not engage in war[d] with them, for I will not give you any of his land as a possession; I have given Ar to the descendants[e] of Lot as a possession.’ 10 (The Emim previously lived in it, a people large,[f] numerous, and tall, like the Anakites.
