8 “And when we passed beyond our brethren, the descendants of Esau who dwell in Seir, away from the road of the plain, away from (A)Elath and Ezion Geber, we (B)turned and passed by way of the Wilderness of Moab. 9 Then the Lord said to me, ‘Do not harass Moab, nor contend with them in battle, for I will not give you any of their land as a possession, because I have given (C)Ar to (D)the descendants of Lot as a possession.’ ”
10 (E)(The Emim had dwelt there in times past, a people as great and numerous and tall as (F)the Anakim.

New International Version
8 So we went on past our relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned from(A) the Arabah(B) road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber,(C) and traveled along the desert road of Moab.(D)
9 Then the Lord said to me, “Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar(E) to the descendants of Lot(F) as a possession.”
10 (The Emites(G) used to live there—a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites.(H)
