14 (A)You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your [a]countrymen or one of your aliens who is in your land in your [b]towns. 15 (B)You shall give him his wages on his day [c]before the sun sets, for he is poor and sets his [d]heart on it; so that (C)he will not cry against you to the Lord and it become sin in you.

16 (D)Fathers shall not be put to death [e]for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death [f]for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.

14 Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.(A) 15 Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor(B) and are counting on it.(C) Otherwise they may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.(D)

16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.(E)
