“No one shall take a handmill or an upper millstone in pledge, for he would be taking a life in pledge.

(A)If a man is [a]caught kidnapping any of his [b]countrymen of the sons of Israel, and he deals with him violently or sells him, then that thief shall die; so you shall purge the evil from among you.

(B)Be careful against [c]an infection of leprosy, that you diligently observe and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you; as I have commanded them, so you shall be careful to do.

Do not take a pair of millstones—not even the upper one—as security for a debt, because that would be taking a person’s livelihood as security.(A)

If someone is caught kidnapping a fellow Israelite and treating or selling them as a slave, the kidnapper must die.(B) You must purge the evil from among you.(C)

In cases of defiling skin diseases,[a] be very careful to do exactly as the Levitical(D) priests instruct you. You must follow carefully what I have commanded them.(E)
