²⁰ “The Lord will send on you ^(A)cursing, ^(B)confusion, and ^(C)rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.

^7 (A)then I will ^[a]cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and this house which I have consecrated ^(B)for My name I will cast out of My sight. ^(C)Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

⁸ And many nations will pass by this city; and everyone will say to his neighbor, ^(A)‘Why has the Lord done so to this great city?’ ⁹ Then they will answer, ^(B)‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God, and worshiped other gods and served them.’ ”

⁹ I will deliver them to ^(A)trouble into all the kingdoms of the earth, for their harm, ^(B)to be a reproach and a byword, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.

^8 (A)I will set My face against that man and make him a ^(B)sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. ^(C)Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
