⁸ When the Most High^(A) gave the nations their inheritance,
    when he divided all mankind,^(B)
he set up boundaries^(C) for the peoples
    according to the number of the sons of Israel.^[a](D)
9 For the Lord’s portion^(E) is his people,
    Jacob his allotted inheritance.^(F)

⁶ The boundary lines^(A) have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.^(B)

    clap their hands at you;^(A)
they scoff^(B) and shake their heads^(C)
    at Daughter Jerusalem:^(D)
“Is this the city that was called
    the perfection of beauty,^(E)
