Moses Commands Obedience

4 “Now, O Israel, listen to ^(A)the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and ^[a]possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you.

¹¹ Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, ^(A)I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your ^(B)servant.

¹⁰ They have not been ^(A)humbled,^[a] to this day, nor have they ^(B)feared; they have not walked in My law or in My statutes that I set before you and your fathers.’

²³ Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord or walked in His law, in His statutes or in His testimonies, ^(A)therefore this calamity has happened to you, as at this day.”

¹² And you shall know that I am the Lord; for you have not walked in My statutes nor executed My judgments, but ^(A)have done according to the customs of the Gentiles which are all around you.” ’ ”
