11 Then came you near and (A)stood under the mountain, and the mountain [a]burnt with fire unto the midst of heaven, and there was darkness, clouds and mist.
12 And the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire, and ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude, save a voice.
13 Then he declared unto you his covenant which he commanded you to [b]do, even the ten [c]commandments, and wrote them upon two Tables of stone.

11 You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain(A) while it blazed with fire(B) to the very heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness.(C) 12 Then the Lord spoke(D) to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form;(E) there was only a voice.(F) 13 He declared to you his covenant,(G) the Ten Commandments,(H) which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.
