26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will surely and suddenly perish from off the land that you are going across the Jordan to possess. You will not prolong your days on it, but shall be completely destroyed. 27 The Lord shall scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the nations where the Lord shall lead you. 28 There you will serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.

26 I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses(A) against you(B) this day that you will quickly perish(C) from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live there long but will certainly be destroyed. 27 The Lord will scatter(D) you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive(E) among the nations to which the Lord will drive you. 28 There you will worship man-made gods(F) of wood and stone,(G) which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.(H)
