3 (A)The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, all [a]of us who are alive here today. 4 The Lord spoke with you (B)face to face at the mountain (C)from the midst of the fire, 5 while (D)I was standing between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord; (E)for you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up on the mountain.
