3 The Lord (A)did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive. 4 (B)The Lord talked with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire. 5 (C)I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord; for (D)you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up the mountain. 3 It was not with our ancestors[a] that the Lord made this covenant, but with us,(A) with all of us who are alive here today.(B) 4 The Lord spoke(C) to you face to face(D) out of the fire(E) on the mountain. 5 (At that time I stood between(F) the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid(G) of the fire and did not go up the mountain.)
