Deuteronomy 8:15-17
New King James Version
15 who (A)led you through that great and terrible wilderness, (B)in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; (C)who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; 16 who fed you in the wilderness with (D)manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, (E)to do you good in the end— 17 then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’

New International Version
15 He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness,(A) that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes(B) and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock.(C) 16 He gave you manna(D) to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known,(E) to humble and test(F) you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself,(G) “My power and the strength of my hands(H) have produced this wealth for me.”
