¹⁹ If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods^(A) and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.^(B)

¹⁶ Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them.^(A)

²⁸ the curse if you disobey^(A) the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods,^(B) which you have not known.

² and if the sign^(A) or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods”^(B) (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” ³ you must not listen to the words of that prophet^(C) or dreamer.^(D) The Lord your God is testing^(E) you to find out whether you love^(F) him with all your heart and with all your soul.

¹⁴ Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left,^(A) following other gods and serving them.

⁶ Do not follow other gods^(A) to serve and worship them; do not arouse my anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you.”
