²² Seventy strong your ancestors went down to Egypt,^(A) and now the Lord, your God, has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.

⁵ He took him outside and said: Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can. Just so, he added, will your descendants be.^(A)

¹⁷ I will bless you and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore; your descendants will take possession of the gates of their enemies,^(A)

³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I will give all these lands, in fulfillment of the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.^{(A) 4} I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, and I will give them all these lands, and in your descendants all the nations of the earth will find blessing—^(B)

¹³ Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and how you swore to them by your own self, saying,^(A) ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky; and all this land that I promised, I will give your descendants as their perpetual heritage.’”
