Difficult Cases

⁸ “If a case is too difficult for you—concerning bloodshed,^(A) lawsuits,^(B) or assaults^(C)—cases disputed at your gates,^(D) you must go up to the place the Lord your God chooses.

¹⁵ the young woman’s father and mother will take the evidence of her virginity and bring it to the city elders at the gate.^(A)

⁷ But if the man doesn’t want to marry his sister-in-law, she must go to the elders at the city gate^(A) and say, ‘My brother-in-law refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel. He isn’t willing to perform the duty of a brother-in-law for me.’
