^35 (A)Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in due time;
^(B)For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’

⁷ To execute vengeance on the nations,
And punishments on the peoples;

¹⁰ For this is ^(A)the day of the Lord God of hosts,
A day of vengeance,
That He may avenge Himself on His adversaries.
^(B)The sword shall devour;
It shall be ^[a]satiated and made drunk with their blood;
For the Lord God of hosts ^(C)has a sacrifice
In the north country by the River Euphrates.

² God is ^(A)jealous, and the Lord avenges;
The Lord avenges and is furious.
The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries,
And He reserves wrath for His enemies;
