^28 (A)There you will serve gods, the work of human hands, ^(B)wood and stone, ^(C)which neither see nor hear, nor eat nor smell anything.

^36 (A)The Lord will bring you and your king, whom you appoint over you, to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods, made of ^(B)wood and stone.

¹⁹ And it shall come about ^(A)when ^[a]they say, ‘Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ then you shall say to them, ‘Just as you have abandoned Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will ^(B)serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’
