⁹ “Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.^(A)

⁷ and so that you do not associate with these nations remaining among you. Do not call on the names of their gods or make an oath to them;^(A) do not worship them or bow down to them.

¹⁶ Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for by doing this you will save^(A) both yourself and your hearers.^(B)
