³ Furthermore, ^(A)you shall not intermarry with them; you shall not give your ^[a]daughters to ^[b]their sons, nor shall you take ^[c]their daughters for your ^[d]sons. ⁴ For ^[e]they will turn your ^[f]sons away from ^[g]following Me, and they will serve other gods; then the anger of Yahweh will be kindled against you, and ^(B)He will quickly destroy you.

² For ^(A)they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons, so that ^(B)the holy seed has ^(C)intermingled with the peoples of the lands; indeed, the hands of the princes and the officials have been foremost in this unfaithfulness.”

²⁵ So ^(A)I contended with them and cursed them and ^(B)struck some of them and pulled out their hair and ^(C)made them swear by God, “You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take up their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.
