Ecclesiastes 12:7-9

Young's Literal Translation

⁷And the dust returneth to the earth as it was, And the spirit returneth to God who gave it.

⁸Vanity of vanities, said the preacher, the whole [is] vanity.

⁹And further, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge, and gave ear, and sought out -- he made right many similes.

Ecclesiastes 12:7-9

⁷and the dust returns^(A) to the ground it came from,
and the spirit returns to God^(B) who gave it.^(C)

⁸“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher.^[a]^(D)
“Everything is meaningless!^(E)”

⁹Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs.^(F)
