Ecclesiastes 2:13-15
New American Standard Bible 1995
13 And I saw that (A)wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness. 14 The wise man’s eyes are in his head, but the (B)fool walks in darkness. And yet I know that (C)one fate befalls them both. 15 Then I said [a]to myself, “(D)As is the fate of the fool, it will also befall me. (E)Why then have I been extremely wise?” So [b]I said to myself, “This too is vanity.”

Ecclesiastes 2:13-15
New International Version
13 I saw that wisdom(A) is better than folly,(B)
just as light is better than darkness.
14 The wise have eyes in their heads,
while the fool walks in the darkness;
but I came to realize
that the same fate overtakes them both.(C)
15 Then I said to myself,
“The fate of the fool will overtake me also.
What then do I gain by being wise?”(D)
I said to myself,
“This too is meaningless.”
