5 At least the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Their love, their hate, and their envy have already perished, and they will never again take part in anything done under the sun.
7 Go ahead, eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God is already pleased with what you do.

5 For the living know that they will die,

6 Their love, their hate
and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
in anything that happens under the sun.(D)
7 Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine(E) with a joyful heart,(F) for God has already approved what you do.
