8 Their visage is blacker than soot; they are not known in the streets; their skin cleaveth to their atzmot; it is dried up, it is become like a stick.
9 They that are slain with the cherev are better than they that are slain with hunger; for these pine away, being pierced for want of the increase of the sadeh.
10 The hands of the pitiful nashim have cooked their own yeladim; they were their meat in the destruction of the Bat Ami.

Lamentations 4:8-10
New International Version
8 But now they are blacker(A) than soot;
they are not recognized in the streets.
Their skin has shriveled on their bones;(B)
it has become as dry as a stick.
9 Those killed by the sword are better off
than those who die of famine;(C)
racked with hunger, they waste away
for lack of food from the field.(D)
10 With their own hands compassionate women
have cooked their own children,(E)
who became their food
when my people were destroyed.
