29 For no man ever yet hated his [a]own flesh, but nourished and cherisheth it, even as the Lord doth the Church.
30 For we are members of his body, [b]of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 (A)For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall [c]cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh.

29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.(A) 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[a](B)
