² Once again, on the second day while drinking wine,^(A) the king asked Esther, “Queen Esther, whatever you ask will be given to you. Whatever you seek, even to half the kingdom, will be done.”^(B)

²³ So he swore^(A) oaths^(B) to her: “Whatever you ask me I will give you, up to half my kingdom.”^(C)
