³⁴ He spoke, and ^(A)locusts came,
And creeping locusts, without number,
³⁵ And ^[a]they ate up all vegetation in their land,
And ^[b]they ate up the fruit of their ground.
³⁶ He also ^(B)struck down all the firstborn in their land,
The ^(C)first of all their vigor.

³⁷ Then He brought them out with ^(D)silver and gold,
And there was none among His tribes who stumbled.
³⁸ Egypt was ^(E)glad when they went out,
For the ^(F)dread of them had fallen upon them.
³⁹ He spread a ^(G)cloud for a ^[c]covering,
And ^(H)fire to give light by night.
^40 [d]They ^(I)asked, and He brought ^(J)quail,
And He satisfied them with the ^[e](K)bread of heaven.
⁴¹ He opened the ^[f]rock and ^(L)water flowed out;
^[g]It ran in the dry places like a river.
⁴² For He ^(M)remembered His holy word
With Abraham His servant;
⁴³ And He brought His people out with joy,
His chosen ones with a shout of ^(N)joy.
⁴⁴ He ^(O)gave them also the lands of the ^[h]nations,
That they ^(P)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
⁴⁵ So that they might ^(Q)keep His statutes
And observe His laws,
