Exodus 12:26-28
International Children’s Bible
26 When your children ask you, ‘Why are we doing these things?’ 27 you will say, ‘This is the Passover sacrifice to honor the Lord. When we were in Egypt, the Lord passed over the houses of Israel. The Lord killed the Egyptians, but he saved our homes.’” So now the people bowed down and worshiped the Lord. 28 They did just as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron.

26 And when your children(A) ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ 27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover(B) sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’”(C) Then the people bowed down and worshiped.(D) 28 The Israelites did just what the Lord commanded(E) Moses and Aaron.
