^26 (A)And it will be when your children say to you, ‘^[a]What is the meaning of this new slavery to you?’ ²⁷ that you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to ^(B)Yahweh who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians, but delivered our homes.’” ^(C)And the people bowed low and worshiped.

^8 (A)And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, ‘It is because of what Yahweh did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

^14 (A)And it will be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ then you shall say to him, ‘^(B)With a strong hand Yahweh brought us out of Egypt, from the house of ^[a]slavery. ¹⁵ And it happened, when Pharaoh hardened his heart with stiffness about letting us go, that ^(C)Yahweh killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast.
