¹¹ They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die?^(A) What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

² Now there was no water^(A) for the community,^(B) and the people gathered in opposition^(C) to Moses and Aaron.

³ They quarreled^(A) with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead^(B) before the Lord!^(C)

¹³ These were the waters of Meribah,^[a](A) where the Israelites quarreled^(B) with the Lord and where he was proved holy among them.^(C)
