Exodus 14:3-5
New American Standard Bible
3 For Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel, ‘They are wandering aimlessly in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’ 4 And (A)I will [a]harden Pharaoh’s heart, and (B)he will chase after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, and (C)the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.
5 When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, [b]Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart toward the people, and they said, “What is this that we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

New International Version
3 Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.’ 4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart,(A) and he will pursue them.(B) But I will gain glory(C) for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.”(D) So the Israelites did this.
5 When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled,(E) Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds(F) about them and said, “What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!”
