Exodus 15:23-25

23 They arrived at Marah, but they could not drink the waters of Marah for they were bitter. That is why the place was called Marah.[a] 24 So the people murmured against Moses, saying, “What will we drink?” 25 He called upon the Lord, who showed him a tree. When he cast it into the water, it became sweet.

25 Then Moses cried out(D) to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw(E) it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.(F)
