20 But they did not listen to Moses, and some left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and became foul; and Moses was angry with them. 21 They gathered it morning by morning, every man [a]as much as he should eat; but when the sun grew hot, it would melt.

20 However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell.(A) So Moses was angry(B) with them.
21 Each morning everyone gathered as much as they needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away. 22 On the sixth day, they gathered twice(C) as much—two omers[a] for each person—and the leaders of the community(D) came and reported this to Moses.
