And I will build [b]a stone wall against her so that she cannot find her (G)paths.
7 And she will (H)pursue her lovers, but she will not reach them;
And she will seek them, but will not find them.
Then she will say, ‘(I)I will go back to my (J)first husband,
Because it was (K)better for me then than now!’
8 “Yet she does (L)not know that it was (M)I myself who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil,
And lavished on her silver and gold,
Which they [c]used for Baal.
9 Therefore, I will [d](N)take back My grain at [e]harvest time
And My new wine in its season.
I will also take away My wool and My flax
That I gave to cover her nakedness.

7 She will chase after her lovers but not catch them;

‘I will go back to my husband(E) as at first,(F)
for then I was better off(G) than now.’
8 She has not acknowledged(H) that I was the one
who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil,(I)
who lavished on her the silver and gold(J)—
