Victory over the Amalekites^(A)

^8 (B)Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

^29 (A)The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”

²⁵ Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley; tomorrow turn and ^(A)move out into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.”

²⁰ Then he looked on Amalek, and he took up his oracle and said:

Destroy the Amalekites

^17 (A)“Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you were coming out of Egypt,

¹³ Then he gathered to himself the people of Ammon and ^(A)Amalek, went and ^[a]defeated Israel, and took possession of ^(B)the City of Palms.

³ So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the ^(A)people of the East would come up against them.

¹² Also ^(A)the Sidonians ^(B)and Amalekites and ^[a]Maonites ^(C)oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hand.

¹⁵ Then Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, ^(A)in the mountains of the Amalekites.

⁴⁸ And he gathered an army and ^(A)attacked^[a] the Amalekites, and delivered Israel from the hands of those who plundered them.
