⁹ Moses said to Joshua,^(A) “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff^(B) of God in my hands.”

¹⁰ So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur^(C) went to the top of the hill.

¹³ Then Moses set out with Joshua^(A) his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain^(B) of God.

¹⁷ When Joshua^(A) heard the noise of the people shouting, he said to Moses, “There is the sound of war in the camp.”
