Exodus 2:22-24
New Life Version
22 She gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Gershom. For he said, “I have been a stranger in a strange land.”
23 Now after a long time, the king of Egypt died. The people of Israel were sad in their spirit because of being servants. They cried for help. And because of their hard work their cry went up to God. 24 God heard their crying and remembered His agreement with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

New International Version
22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom,[a](A) saying, “I have become a foreigner(B) in a foreign land.”
23 During that long period,(C) the king of Egypt died.(D) The Israelites groaned in their slavery(E) and cried out, and their cry(F) for help because of their slavery went up to God. 24 God heard their groaning and he remembered(G) his covenant(H) with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.
