¹⁵ That is why I am terrified before him;^(A)
    when I think of all this, I fear him.^(B)

⁴ I sought the Lord,^(A) and he answered me;
    he delivered^(B) me from all my fears.
⁵ Those who look to him are radiant;^(C)
    their faces are never covered with shame.^(D)
6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
    he saved him out of all his troubles.^(E)
7 The angel of the Lord^(F) encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers^(G) them.

⁸ Taste and see that the Lord is good;^(H)
    blessed is the one who takes refuge^(I) in him.
⁹ Fear the Lord,^(J) you his holy people,
    for those who fear him lack nothing.^(K)
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.^(L)
11 Come, my children, listen^(M) to me;
    I will teach you^(N) the fear of the Lord.^(O)
12 Whoever of you loves life^(P)
    and desires to see many good days,
¹³ keep your tongue^(Q) from evil
    and your lips from telling lies.^(R)
14 Turn from evil and do good;^(S)
    seek peace^(T) and pursue it.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord^(U) are on the righteous,^(V)
    and his ears are attentive^(W) to their cry;
¹⁶ but the face of the Lord is against^(X) those who do evil,^(Y)
    to blot out their name^(Z) from the earth.

¹⁷ The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears^(AA) them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
¹⁸ The Lord is close^(AB) to the brokenhearted^(AC)
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

¹⁹ The righteous person may have many troubles,^(AD)
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;^(AE)
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.^(AF)

²¹ Evil will slay the wicked;^(AG)
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
²² The Lord will rescue^(AH) his servants;
    no one who takes refuge^(AI) in him will be condemned.

Blessed are those^(B) who fear the Lord,^(C)
    who find great delight^(D) in his commands.

¹⁰ The fear of the Lord^(A) is the beginning of wisdom,
    and knowledge of the Holy One^(B) is understanding.^(C)
